Everyday there is a new opportunity to "dare to love yourself as if you were a rainbow with gold at both ends".
I believe the things we think are a problem we need to solve, are actually the "gold at both ends of the rainbow." In my experience clients go through a process unique to them in therapy. It is in this process that they find themselves more fully, relate to others with more understanding, and embrace their hurts as golden opportunities for transformation, purpose and inspiration.
Psychotherapy is a tool you can use to change your reactions, change the patterns in your life, and change your responses so that you can choose something new and better.
I am certified in EMDR and have seen clients make amazing progress once they have re-processed traumatic memories. They begin to link those memories to new perspectives that have been transformed by the process of re-processing.
Currently I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate with the State of Oregon under the Supervision of Josie Juhasz, MA, LPC. I collaborate with individuals on things like recovery from trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety, and disordered eating. I work with couples on communication, actually hearing and listening, and using communication techniques to do this that are easy to understand but take a little practice and guidance.
I utilize powerful tools like EMDR or Eye Movement Desensitization and Re-processing, CBT or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, MBSR or Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, the Gottman Method and EFT or Emotion Focused Therapy. I hold a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Holistic Studies which included coursework in Systems Theory, training in the integration of Mind/Body/Spirit and courses in Somatic and Transpersonal therapies. I have a lot of tools in the toolbox to help you work on your goals.
